As this is a production-load bug with derby database it is no longer relevant from NAS 4.0. I suggest we close it as "won't fix".

Its a bit strange how an sql update can cause an OOM, unless derby for some reason is processing some of those sub-selects in the jdbc driver thread and not as expected completely in the derby server thread.

I just checked the PROD configuration for GUIApplication, and the mem-allocation there is -Xmx1936m

Are we allocating the same memory as in the production environment to the GUIApplication
The memory allocation for the GUIapplication is currently: -Xmx1536m
